Acne Causes: Discover These 4 and You Will Eliminate Your Problem 15/03/10 Posted By: Acne Treatment Contributor

Go ahead, admit it. Acne causes all kinds of grief, it’s an intrusion into anyone’s life. Its causes are a diverse as acne sufferers themselves. Although it is a common skin disorder, would you believe that there is no cure? On that note the goal of this article is to educate you about acne causes as well as provide solutions.

Understanding and Identifying Your Acne

Acne is caused by an overactive oil glands which trap dirt and bacteria that results in clogging up your pores. The results of these clogged up pores manifest into pimples, blackheads, whiteheads, cysts, lesions and nodules.

Although acne can appear differently there are at least four recognizable acne causes. They are:

1 – Heredity

Due to heredity one is unable to change these characteristics and will have to make challenging adjustments to adapt to their existing condition.

2 – Changes In Ones Hormones

Women can see direct changes and can regulate it successfully with birth control pills. Other methods such as avoiding foods that contain white flour or sugar can positively affect hormone levels in young adults and teenager.

3 – Positive Effects of Diet

Alter your diet by avoiding caffine, processed foods, carbonated beverages, pasta and fatty foods. This might sound strict but you can control your acne causes. Don’t forget to drink plenty of fresh water, eat fresh fruits and vegetables. Also by staying away from unprocessed foods, you can positively improve your skin.

4 – Controlling Your Stress

By controlling your stress you will be able to manage the affects of your acne. Stop letting your boss, work, relationships, time commitments or health worries cause you to build up your stress in your life. Instead, try relaxation techniques and exercise to manage your stress. There are some excellent methods such as yoga, exercise, visualization, aromatherapy and hypnotherapy which can positively reduce your stress and outbreaks of acne.

Treatments For Acne

It is best to first try these natural treatments such as maintaining a healthy diet, control and manage stress, getting plenty of bed rest, staying out of the sun and following a strict skin care plan. However if you are not getting results that clear up your acne then perhaps you’ll need to try professional help.

Seeking help from a dermatologist is the best recommendation. He or she will be able to prescribe the right medications for your condition. Depending on the treatment, antibiotics and retinoids are the most successful. Treatments such as facials, dermabrasion and laser treatments are effective for minimizing or even reducing acne.

For quick solution for your acne, Accutane is a medication that your doctor can prescribe, although it has potentially life threatening side effects. It is considered a quasi-cure for acne. Although it has great 60% success rate, it does have side effects that include severe depression and birth defects. You will need to consult your doctor to see if this is the right medication for you

Important – Acne Can Change

Acne causes can potentially change over time. For example, a treatment that might work when you are a teenager might not work as you become an adult. Therefore it is important that you continue to search for the right treatment if it no longer becomes effective and your dermatologist can help you.

Some Helpful Information About Acne And Acne Treatments 15/03/10 Posted By: Acne Treatment Contributor

As a registered nurse, I’ve learned a lot over the years about acne, acne scars, and acne treatments. Living with acne can be very difficult, and even more difficult to find the right acne treatment for you.

Acne is caused by the clogging of the follicle of a skin gland causing a pimple to grow.

For most people, acne goes away by age 30, but people in their forties and fifties still get acne. Acne will affect almost every person at some stage of their life. Nearly 17 million people in the United States have acne. People of all races and ages get acne.

Most pimples are found on the face, neck, back, chest, and shoulders.

The cause of acne is really unknown. Acne, zits, pimples, blackheads, whiteheads and many other skin disorders are usually, but not always, the result of a bad diet. Experts just can’t agree on what causes acne. There is still much to be learned about what causes acne.

A skin specialist in a dermatology clinic in New York is now using a combination of red light and blue light therapy to treat severe cases of acne, and successfully so.

Some natural home remedies include dabbing on non-gel toothpaste to dry out zits or lemon juice. It’s always best to seek non-invasive treatment for any skin condition. Use baking soda very carefully when you exfoliate.

One good natural method is to apply a thin layer of coconut oil and massage it deep into the skin to heal and soothe it. Drinking pure, filtered water may be the best acne treatment working from the inside out.

Besides acne, if you also have eczema or dry skin, coconut oil will treat those skin conditions too.

Acne scars can give the skin an aging look. The good news is there are several types of treatments to choose from for acne scar removal. Acne is not a serious health threat but, it can cause scars so treat it early.

The liver sluffs off toxins from bad foods, drinks, drugs and chemicals and sends them through your skin resulting in skin eruptions, acne, pimples and other skin disorders.

In any case, no matter what skin or acne treatment you choose, whether it is chemical, drugs, alternative, or natural methods, changing your diet will result in your overall good health!

Some alternative doctors recommend eating raw cloves of garlic daily for acne.

When you change your diet, your lesions should be getting better within 30 days.

For an easy fiber boost, mix in two tablespoons of ground up flaxseeds in raw applesauce, from 2-3 apples, made in your food processor. Eat high-fiber snacks like raw nuts, raw seeds, and dried fruit, such as dates, and figs. Consider taking cod liver oil or fish oil supplements every day.

Unclean skin favors the development of pathogenic organisms – the dead cells that continually slough off of the epidermis mix with the secretions of the sweat and sebaceous glands and the dust found on the skin to form a filthy layer on its surface.

The skin supports its own ecosystems of microorganisms, including yeasts and bacteria, which cannot be removed by any amount of cleaning.

With cheap, safe, simple, natural, effective, alternative, home treatments for acne and pimples, your skin should be well on its way to recovery.

You should see the results of your acne home treatment remedies with improved skin within just a few days. In any case, try not to panic about your acne and take it day by day.

Acne Medical Treatment – When Should You Seek for It? 15/03/10 Posted By: Acne Treatment Contributor

It’s a fact that acne is one of the most harmful skin disorders among both teens and adults as well. Not only does it affects people physically but acne has the potential to cause psychological effects, which can be even more devastating. We know there are many products available to treat acne. Some of these treatments include over-the-counter cleansers, creams, etc. And while many mild forms of acne can be treated by some over-the-counter products, more severe types of acne may require medical attention. So, how can you know when to seek medical attention to treat your acne?

It is important to properly care for acne and take the necessary steps to treat and prevent it, but it is also important to know when your acne requires you to see a dermatologist. The decision to seek medical attention to treat your acne takes into account several things. Among the most important factors you should consider when deciding to seek medical attention for your acne is the fact of how you feel about your acne and how it’s affecting you, and the medical facts surrounding your acne condition. In the case you are the victim of a very severe form of acne such as cystic acne and none of the products you’ve tried to treat it have worked for you, then there’s no reason why you should hesitate to see a doctor for special treatment.

Severe acne can cause real damage to your skin if you don’t treat it properly before it’s too late. For one thing, severe acne may leave permanent scars! And this is one of the most important reasons why you should seek medical attention as soon as possible. Medical treatment may help reduce scarring. Acne scars come in different types, and appear on some people while others do not have them. In men, scars on the face and neck may make shaving difficult. Shaving can irritate scars, especially larger, more prominent ones, and can further irritate the skin.

How are acne scars treated? There are two factors taken in consideration to treat acne scars: the type of acne you have, and your skin type. Both of these factors play an important role in how your acne scars are treated. The best way to prevent acne scars is to prevent acne, so you should find what works for you and stick to it. If you have cystic acne, a more severe type of acne, there’s no doubt you will have to see an acne skin care professional. Painful cysts may need to be drained by a physician. This type of acne usually requires medical attention because of its severity. It can also last for months and cause a good deal of discomfort to sufferers of this form of severe acne.

Acne can also have negative psychological effects on people. And sometimes these psychological effects are much more difficult to deal with than the actual physical scarring. For many acne sufferers, acne can cause them to become anxious or depressed, affected by what those around them think and how they are perceived. They may also fear how others see them, and feel there is no cure for their condition. This is especially true in adults because many feel their acne should have cleared up after adolescence, or shouldn’t have occurred during adulthood. This is the reason why many of them often stay away from attending social events to avoid placing themselves in a situation where they might feel inferior. So, it is critical to seek medical attention in these cases. Having the help of a professional doctor will not only help treat the physical effects created by acne but he/she will also help sooth the psychological ones as well.

Seeking medical attention as early as possible can save you many unwanted surprises in the future. This is especially true for teenagers who suffer from acne. It has been proven that teens that suffer from acne early on can usually expect it to worsen as they get older. And in the worst-case scenario, their acne condition can even continue on into adulthood! Many times the consequences are so devastating that more severe types of acne can form. Again, we go back to what we’ve discussed earlier, by seeking medical attention, scarring can be prevented earlier on in the course of the condition.

Acne is a very serious skin disorder. So it’s vital to seek medical attention. It doesn’t matter if you aren’t sure. Even if prescription medications aren’t necessary, a doctor can help you find a treatment that works best for you, and you will be on your way to recovery, which is obviously the ultimate goal.

Vitamin a Sources and Deficiencies–secret Behind This Vitamin 15/03/10 Posted By: Acne Treatment Contributor

Vitamin A, also known as retinol, offers a whole heap of benefits in vision, reproduction, bone development, division of cells and cell differentiation. It also plays significant role in the production of white blood cells. In effect, it strengthens the immune system of the body and aids in fighting against various harmful germs and viruses. Vitamin A offers a healthy subtle sheath in the retina, respiratory tract, urinal tract and intestinal tract areas. Vitamin A deficiencies may cause breaking this sheath – this, in turn, makes it easy for germs to enter into the health system.

Types

Typically, vitamin A can be subdivided into two categories depending on their sources of availability. These two categories are preformed vitamin A and provitamin A carotenoid. Preformed vitamin A can mostly be found from animals such as liver, whole milk and fortified food products. This type is easily absorbed in the form of retinol. Retinol can be converted into retinal and retinoic acid within the body.

Provitamin A carotenoid can be found in colorful fruits and vegetables. Few common forms of this type of vitamin A are beta-carotene, alpha-carotene, and beta-cryptoxanthin. Among all of these forms, beta-carotene can be effectively prepared into retinol.

Sources of Vitamin A

Animals and animal products are considered as the wise selection for vitamin A sources. It is mainly because of the fact that it is well absorbed and utilized efficiently with the body system. However, plants can also be considered as vitamin A sources, but they can not be well absorbed within the body and may not function effectively as well. Liver, fortified skim milk, cheese, and egg are great vitamin A sources.

Carrot offers generous amount of vitamin A. Whether you take it raw or boiled or as a juice, it offers you plenty amount of vitamin A. Apart from that, you can depend on kale, vegetable soup, apricots with skin, apricot nectar, oatmeal, peas, orange juice, peaches, and pepper.

Deficiencies of Vitamin A

Vitamin A deficiencies largely depend on regions. The deficiency is quite prominent in developing countries like India; however, it is rarely seen in USA. In the developing regions, a significant number of children become blind every year due to vitamin A deficiencies. On the other hand, vitamin A deficiencies are mostly related to the strict dietary restrictions and excessive alcohol consumption.

Night blindness is one of the most significant conditions occurring as a result of vitamin A deficiencies. Dated back to ancient period, Egyptian civilization also confirmed the usefulness of liver in treating night blindness. Liver is a great source of vitamin A contents. Vitamin A deficiencies contribute to night blindness by turning the cornea very dry and damaging the cornea and retina.

Vitamin A deficiencies may also contribute in weaker immune system. In developing countries, immunization program is thus restricted. The mortality rate is very high due to complications of infectious diseases like measles. Pneumonia is also believed to be caused due to vitamin A deficiency.

Current Controversies

Few scientific studies argue that there is a strong relation between beta-carotene and lower risk of cancer. A higher intake of colorful fruits and vegetables may lower the possibilities of lung cancer. However, it is strongly controversial in nature. It is mainly because of the fact that many studies also advocate against the correlation. They conducted research for investigating the significance of beta-carotene supplements in preventing various types of cancer, but could not find any effective result supporting the relevance.

Recent studies are going for finding out the potential adverse effect associated with excess intake of vitamin A supplements. Several researchers have found out that there is a strong correlation between excess intake of vitamin A and weaker bone structure. Hypervitaminosis A is a critical condition referred to the excess storage of vitamin A in the body. Birth defects, abnormalities in liver, declined bone mineral density and CNS disorders are the common adverse effects associated with the excess intake of vitamin A.

Acne Treatments That Work For You Now Naturally 15/03/10 Posted By: Acne Treatment Contributor

Consider cheaper, alternative, natural, effective treatment methods to get the best cure for your acne, zit, pimple or blackhead problem. By their mid-teens, nearly 35% of teenagers have acne severe enough to require some type of treatment from a medical professional. Many people needlessly suffer from acne because of a lack of knowledge or understanding.

Nearly 80 percent of people from ages 11 to 30 years have acne, most often on the face, chest and back. Acne is a group of skin rashes that have different causes. For most people, acne goes away by age 30, but people in their forties and fifties still suffer from acne. People of all races and ages have acne.

Understanding that hormones may have some influence on the cause of acne is still being researched. Check your shampoo to make sure it isn’t causing pimples or other breakouts on your forehead. Experts just can’t agree on what causes acne.

Raw apple cider vinegar application to the skin is a cheap, alternative acne treatment that has worked for many adults, teens and children with acne, zits, pimples, or blemishes. Make sure to stay out of the sun if you’re taking any acne medications. Never underestimate the healing, restorative power of a good night’s sleep.

Coconut oil is very inexpensive; it’s a good, cheap, natural home remedy. Any makeup you use should list on the label non-acnegenic or non-comedogenic. It’s always best to seek non-invasive and natural treatment for any skin condition.

No over-the-counter creams can help your acne from the inside out; they can only kill some of the bacteria on your face and help reduce the redness. When you wash your face use a soft touch, taking care not to rub or scrub your skin. Too many chemicals can strip your skin of its natural oils and the skin will overproduce oil to compensate for it, blocking your pores and causing more acne.

Acne and its treatment is one of the most misunderstood topics there is when it comes to acne skin care. Try not to touch your affected skin to eliminate possible contamination. This is a little messy but you can try making a paste by mixing three tablespoons of honey and one teaspoon of cinnamon together and applying the paste on your pimples at bedtime for two weeks, and wash it off each morning; honey has anti-bacterial action – a cheap, natural home remedy.

Try relaxation techniques to reduce stress, including meditation and yoga breathing exercises. Use exercise such as Yoga and Tai Chi to improve blood flow to the skin and support the healing process; it also boosts the condition of your internal organs which allows them to eliminate toxins more effectively.

Besides external acne treatment it’s even more important to work from the inside out too. When you change your diet, your lesions should start getting better within a week or two, with significant improvement the first month. Adding a lot of fresh, raw fruit to the diet has helped many people clear their skin up; there are tons of vitamins, minerals and other nutrients in fruits.

Some alternative doctors recommend eating a raw clove of garlic daily for acne; you can chop one up and add it to your daily salad! Essential fatty acids are particularly important to people with inflammatory conditions such as eczema and acne.

When the skin is dehydrated, dead skin cells remain on the skin which may block pores and promote acne; drink plenty of water. Drink freshly extracted carrot juice, if you can, every day; carrot juice is an excellent cleanser for the liver, great for the skin and contains tons of nutrients, all beneficial for acne. For an easy fiber boost, mix in two tablespoons of ground up flaxseeds into raw applesauce, from two to three apples, made in your food processor.

The two most common digestive concerns that affect your skin are not enough water and not enough fiber. Good nutrition will help your skin from the inside out.

Analyze all the acne treatments available and make the best decision for you, based on your circumstances. With cheap, safe, simple, natural, effective, alternative home treatments for acne and pimples, your skin should be well on its way to recovery. One should always think about cheaper, alternative, natural, effective treatment methods to get the best cure or solution to their acne, zits, pimples and blackhead problems.

Some Tips for Treating Acne 15/03/10 Posted By: Acne Treatment Contributor

Acne, like the common cold, is a problem that just about every human being on planet earth is going to have to deal with at some point in their lives.

One generally finds acne among the teenagers or the young adults, but this is not always the case.

The single most important thing that a person who has acne can do to treat the problem at home is to practice correct face washing. Correctly washing the face is done in several steps. Securing the hair by firmly pulling it back is the first step.

The second step is to wash the hand thoroughly and this includes cleaning under the nails. The next thing to do is to wet the face and apply a pH balanced soap or facial cleansing product.

Using a circular motion, spread the cleanser evenly. Rinsing is important. Warm water should be splashed over the face until all traces of the cleanser have been removed . Using a clean towel, face is pat dried.

Towels should never be used more than once without be laundered. The skin should be allowed to air dry for at least 15 minutes before any acne medication or moisturizers are applied.

For a small case of acne…that is just the occasional pimple, white head or blackhead with no inflammation, there are many products that can be found on the shelves of most drug stores and discount stores. Cases of acne where there is inflammation should be treated by a dermatologist and at the earliest possible moment to avoid the physical and emotional scarring that acne can cause.

This is valid for all cases of Acne specifically adult Acne, adolescent Acne and infant Acne. But mind that when getting in for treatment, you must 1st possess all the knowledge at hand and only then you must really opt for a discourse.

For Adult Acne Treatment, visit adult acne remedies. It is all the more improtant for pregnant women who are at a danger as some of the Adult Acne medicines has chemicals which could lead to unfavorable responses.

The Secret Connection Behind Milk and Acne 14/03/10 Posted By: Acne Treatment Contributor

Ever wonder why the milk industry changed their advertising message to “Got Milk?” There’s a reason why milk can no longer advertise their message as “Milk does a body good.” It’s because it actually does a body bad, REAL bad. Especially when it comes to acne.

This article you are about to read is a compilation of some studies proving the milk and acne connection. This is a no-nonsense article that gets straight to the point, so let’s begin. Because our cows are forcefully injected with hormones such as several sex hormones and bovine IGF. As a result, you are flooding these nasty, unnatural substances when you consume milk-based products.

According to Patrick Massey MD, PhD. from the Daily Herald: “Milk contains estrogen, progesterone, testosterone, androgen precursors like androstendione and other hormones. Some of these hormones are known to promote acne.”

And also in the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology, suggests that drinking milk might increase the risk of acne in teenagers. In this study, more than 47,000 women completed an extensive health questionnaire about their health and lifestyles. One topic addressed was their milk-drinking habits as teenagers and whether or not they had been diagnosed with severe acne.

The results showed that those who drank milk were more likely to develop teenage acne. Those who drank more milk had even a higher risk. And this isn’t isolated to just women.

A recent May 2008 study by the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology “found a positive association between intake of skim milk and acne. This finding suggests that skim milk contains hormonal constituents, or factors that influence endogenous hormones, in sufficient quantities to have biological effects in consumers.”

Another study by the Department of Nutrition at the Harvard School of Public Health found a “positive association with acne for intake of total milk and skim milk,” and acne’s “association with milk may be because of the presence of hormones and bioactive molecules.”

Still need more proof?

Over two thousand people in a study published in the Souther Medical Journal (1949) also linked acne with milk consumption. Then in 1966 the American Dermatological association researched over a thousand people over a decade and found milk to be a strong acne promoter.

I don’t know about you but I would give up all milk even if it tastes good to finally have clear skin, especially when all these studies strongly suggest more acne as a result of milk. But avoid milk and dairy based products is only part of the problem. After reading these studies about milk it is also obvious that diet has a strong correlation to how much acne you get.

Despite what you heard from your dermatologist or doctor, diet and especially milk may be the strongest factor that leads to breakouts. Surprisingly, it’s not the oil and grease that causes acne breakouts as you were lead to believe.

You may feel a sense of relief especially if you always thought acne is mainly caused by genetics. But start eliminating milk as soon as you can, eat a good healthy diet, and take a good anti acne supplement as extra protection against future breakouts. You will be amazed at the results.

If you want more information on how anti-acne nutrients and proper diet can get rid of your acne visit: http://www.ClearSkinSecret.com
