Acne laser treatment is an effective method of eliminating scars ensuing from acne as well as clearing up already existing acne. It has been recently approved for treating severe acne and curing pimples. If you want to get rid of the ugly scars on your skin, laser treatment is the last alternative for you.
Usually people, who have suffered from scars due to severe or cystic acne, can opt for laser treatment. It is difficult to treat acne scars and often results in discontent if a scar treatment fails. Laser acne treatment has grown in popularity, as dermatologists have achieved commendable progress in its advancement.
How laser treatment works
For those in fix whether to go for a laser treatment for acne. You should know how a laser treatment of acne is done. Laser acne treatment device first emits a flat laser beam that is focused on the affected areas. It emits energetic heat under the skin’s surface and reduces the size of the sebaceous glands, which are mainly responsible for acne. Although this illustration might seem bloody, but be sure the whole procedure is relatively pain-free.
Types of laser treatment for acne
You have various kinds of laser acne treatment, so you should consult a dermatologist before choosing such a treatment. Some of them are as below:
1. Nonablative Treatment , In this a laser is focused under your skin that stimulates collagen production and constrict the skin in the area
2. Erbium Treatment, It is another type in which heat is passed through water molecules and consequently gets into the patient’s skin. This ends acne breakout, removes facial wrinkles and acne blemishes.
3. Carbon Dioxide Treatment, It is the best technique of all as laser treatment for acne as it is able to cure all types of acne.
4. Smoothbeam laser treatment, It proliferates growth of collagen, which smoothens the skins surface. This treatment is given to the people with acne after using the topical local anesthetic.
Redness may appear around the affected area after completion of the laser treatment. After the laser treatment, people with acne are advised to Sun protection formula to avoid sun tanning.
1. Fraxel laser treatment, It is the first non-ablative resurfacing laser treatment of its kind in the world. It is the best treatment for severe acne.
2. Vbeam laser and IPL treatment, These are very effective while treating acne on the surface of skin. It focuses on the very small blood cells, and develops the skins color leading to treating acne from the body.
The time you need to recover depends on the amount of treatment you require. In most cases people experience some redness and swelling. The redness goes away faster, only the swelling lasts for few weeks after the treatment.
There are some advantages of laser acne treatment for scars, which needs a mention. Firstly, it is easy to control the depth of treatment unlike most other treatments. Some may be surface scars and do not require deep treatment to fix while others may be very deep scars and need a deeper laser penetration. Secondly, laser treatment on acne could smoothen wrinkles.
It is a fact that controversies hover over the safety and effectiveness of this technique used for acne treatment. This is quite a new method, so long-term negative effects are yet to be determined. The laser treatment is always a safe option for those who do not wish to take risk of prolonged use of antibiotics for their acne.
There are some instances where laser acne treatment did not work as desired. Whereas in others cases, it has been an enormous success all over the world.

At puberty, male hormones stimulate growth of skin cells and increased production of sebum by sebaceous glands. The gland duct may become blocked by skin cells to form a whitehead, or by a plug of sebum that darkens on exposure to air, forming a blackhead, when sebum continues to be produced in a gland with a blocked duct, it may be forced out into surrounding tissue. Bacteria that are normally present in the skin (and harmless in other circumstances) cause the sebum to break down into chemicals that cause inflammation, resulting in the tender red lump we call a pimple. The pus formed by the inflammation usually pushes towards the surface from a ‘head’ that breaks through the blockage of the duct, and the pimple drains and disappears, leaving no scar.
Acne is also genetically influenced. If the parents have acne, then there kids are also more prone of developing acne.
Use of generally cosmetics may also lead to occurrence of Acne.
Various drugs like lithium, may also cause acne.
Due to rubbing the skin, friction is caused which may cause acne. Various environmental factors such as pollution and high level of humidity also leads to formation of acne.
Acne is not caused by chocolate and greasy foods or stress.
If the duct is very tightly plugged, the inflammation may spread to the deeper layers of the skin, forming a ‘blind’ pimple. In some cases cysts form deep in the skin and raise purplish lumps that can take months or years to heal. Cystic acne is the most severe form, and almost always results in some pitting and scarring.
Why do some people get worse acne than others? Some people’s sebaceous glands are extra sensitive to male hormones. This sensitivity seems to be inherited, explaining why acne tends to run in families. Acne in teenagers is rarely caused by an excessof male hormones, the skin is just over-reacting to the normal amount.
All forms of acne have their origin in wrong food habits, such as irregular hours of eating, improper food, excess of starch, sugar and fatty foods. Chronic constipation is another major cause of acne. If the bowels do not move properly, the waste matter is not eliminated as quickly as it should be and the blood stream becomes saturated with toxic matter. The extra efforts of the skin to eliminate this excess waste result in acne and other forms of skin disease. Yet another important cause of acne is a devitalised condition of the skin resulting from unhygenic living habits. Other contributing factors to the disorder are excessive use of tea, coffee, alcohol and tobacco, strenuous studies and sedentary habits which lead to indigestion and general debility.
Several factors are known to be linked to acne:
· Hormonal activity
· Hyperactive sebaceous glands
· Accumulation of dead skin cells
· Bacteria in the pores
· Skin irritation or scratching of any sort
· Anabolic steroids
· Birth control pills, however many women have reported reduced acne while on the pill
· Those exposed to high levels of chlorine compounds, particularly chlorinated dioxins, often develop severe, long-lasting acne, known as Chloracne

Important Things You Should Know Before Deciding On Acne Dermatology Treatment
We all know pimples look terrible and even the sound “pimple” sounds disgusting. Before we consider an acne dermatology treatment, acne are clogged skin pores also known as whiteheads, blackheads, cyst or nodules. If not taken care properly, they result in scars and affect your your self esteem. For young people between the ages of 12 and 17, it’s pretty much guaranteed you will at least experience one acne breakout.
During the teen years, acne break outs are only minor but did you know that acne can affect you during your thirties and forties? As you become older your life is often affected by hormones, stress and diet which influence acne break outs.
With many choices of skin care products available at drug retailers, TV shopping networks and the INTERNET, popular brands such as Murad, Proactiv, Neutrogena and Clearasil are classic examples that have been successful in controlling acne.
However acne causes can be different for each person and spending time buying over the counter remedies is expensive if not a waste of time. This effort for a teen preparing to go back to school or for one starting a new job can be of utmost importance if you want to look your best. If over the counter medications are not working in a timely manner it’s time to consider acne dermatology treatment.
What to look for when considering a visit to your dermatologist.
There are several steps to take into account during your first dermatology appointment. During this visit the doctor will need to give you a physical assessment that should include a history of your health.
From your assessment, the doctor might need a blood test or diagnostic test to rule out medical causes for your acne condition. Regarding the type, severity and frequency of your out breaks, the doctor may start you on a cleansing routine that includes either topical soaps, creams or lotions. If your acne case is mild, your doctor could prescribe an oral medication that could be beneficial.
Other treatments your doctor may recommend are antibiotics such as Tetracycline or Erythromycin in which these treatments can improve your condition in three to six months. If the results are not favorable then the doctor could possibly start you on Accutane treatment.
If the doctor is recommending Accutrane, get the full explanation on the potential of certain affects this treatment might have on you. For example, isolated cases of birth defects or suicide attempts have been reported. Many dermatologists will not recommend this treatment for women of child bearing age or someone with a history of depression.
Overall, the effectiveness in Accutane treatment has been called the cure for acne. The time line for clearing up acne is from four to six months and up to 60% of acne sufferers get excellent results and in some cases a second treatment might be needed to stop outbreaks.
All in all the Accutane treatment is highly recommended as the best acne dermatology treatment regardless of its questionable history. One can conclude that there exists more positive results using this treatment. However you should be diligent in seeking further proof about the this treatment to make an informed decision.
Which ever acne dermatology treatment your doctor prescribes it is important that you trust his advice and follow through the treatment without any interruptions for better results. It is even more important to always do your research even if it requires getting a second or third opinion. After all it is you that has to live with the results.

In general, women will feel more burdened than men when it comes to acne problems. This is understandable as women are more concerned about their looks than men. At certain times, a woman’s endocrine or hormonal system is also more susceptible to acne. All these are reasons why women would spend more money on acne treatments and skin care products.
A woman’s endocrine system seems to work faster and produces more hormones than man’s. That’s why women enter puberty earlier then men; this also explains why girls develop acne sooner then boys during the teenage years. Statistics show that acne becomes noticeable in girls at the age of about 11 years old; whereas boys will start developing acne when they are 13 years old.
As we all know during puberty, the hormone levels in teenagers are sky high; besides producing hormones such as estrogens or testosterone at a faster pace, a class of hormones that are less well known by name are also produced. These hormones are known as androgens and are believed to be more pertinent to acne onset during puberty.
Both women and men share these hormones. But, the rise of these hormones will occur sooner in girls. However, when boys reach their puberty, the androgen levels rise even higher. This explains why boys suffer more severe acne problems than girls during their teen years.
Statistics show that about 2/3 of all teens will develop acne, at least in mild form. But for girls, acne condition tends to last longer, at least cyclically. As females enter their 20s, her menstrual cycle would increase the likelihood of developing acne or at least mild acne. Since that occurs approximately once per month, so does the acne outbreak. For almost 62% of women, the week prior to the onset of flow is typically the worst and most susceptible to acne.
Pregnancy offers some relief, but it mostly shifts the pattern. It doesn’t eliminate acne entirely. During pregnancy, acne breakouts can occur at random. As our skin condition changes, some women who have never had acne before could be plagued by acne during pregnancy. The likelihood of getting acne is higher during the first trimester since hormone levels are changing most rapidly during this interval.
Be extra careful about what medications or treatments you opt for if you’re pregnant. Many over the counter treatments are considered safe. However, some studies strongly advise us to avoid using isotretinoin (brand name: Accutane) and tetracycline (doxycycline) as they may cause harmful side effects. Some studies even suggest that they may cause birth defects or development problems in the fetus. When in doubt, consult a dermatologist.
Acne problems reduce as we grow older; however, it doesn’t mean that it won’t occur. In fact, surveys show that over 50% of women and 42.5% of men between ages 20-29 develop acne. The numbers drop to 35.2% for women and 20.1% for men between ages 30-39. By the time women reach their 40s, the number will drop further to 26.3% and 12% for men. As we reach 50 and above, the numbers decrease further to 15% and 7% for women and men respectively.

Acne can be very frustrating, the scars left by acne can be superficial, but if left untreated the scars can be deep. There is no age exception when it comes to acne, whether you are a teenager or an adult, if you have acne you should start treating it early, because the longer you wait for the worse it will become.
1. Drink water to moisturize your skin. When your skin is dry, a hormone called androgen will produce tons of sebum, also known as oil, and the oil produce by androgen will lead to clog pores, and that means more pimples.
2. Shrink your acne with ice cubes. Cover two or three ice cubes with washcloth, and hold it against your acne-affected skin for about 8 or 10 minutes, this will minimize the swelling and prevent breakouts.
3. Eyedrops. Use eyedrops to reduce the redness of your acne-affected skin. Two or three drops will do.
4. Zinc and vitamin c. Eating food that is rich in zinc and vitamin c like meat, beans and fruits strengthen and protect your skin from damage caused by acne. These foods will also help the skin to heal more quickly.
5. Minimize caffeine intake. Caffeine tastes good, but it can dehydrate your skin, and if your skin is dry, you will have more pimples. Furthermore, caffeine is a stimulant; it stimulates everything in your body including the androgen that is responsible for producing sebum.
6. Exfoliate your skin. If our pores to become clogged with the dead skin cells, the oil and the bacteria get trapped inside our pores, and this forms a pimple; exfoliation is the process of removing dead skin cells before they clogged our pores. Exfoliation will stop a pimple before it starts.
7. Medications. Anti-acne medications that contain benzoyl peroxide are a good way to heal acne, prevent future breakouts, and reduce inflammation caused by acne.
8. Laser treatments. Using laser to treat acne is used by dermatologists, it can take a couple of weeks to cure the acne, but it can be expensive, also laser treatment can get rid of acne for a long time.
9. Remove makeup. Before you go to sleep remember to remove your makeup, because makeup can clog the pores if left overnight.

There are several stages of acne, or should I say, three types of acne conditions:
1) Mild Acne
2) Moderate Acne
3) Severe Acne
In which case, all three would require your attention as soon as possible. Let’s take the milde acne for instance, it is of course the simplest form of acne and can be treated by simply washing your face regularily or cleaning the area where acne is present wiht luke warm water. Apply a mild acne topical solution like Benzoyl Peroxide or Salicylic Acid. Both can be found and purchased over the counter at your local drug store or pharmacy.
Now for moderate acne, this is usually acne that would cover over 50% of your face or somewhere on the body. Not yet the severe stage, but can come close to it if not treated right away. At this stage, I would suggest visiting your dermatologist to get more test done on your skin so that you can be treated with a more stronger acne regimen. Some treatments that would be offered at time of visit could be something like a “blue light theraphy” treatment or you may be prescribed oral medications or even a topical solution.
If you are experiencing the severe stages of acne, this is the type of acne that consumes your entire face and/or body over 50%. These types of acnes appear to be more severe and leave permanent scarring to the skin. They look more inflamed and cyst like as well. If this is where you are at in the stage of acne, it is urgent that you seek medical treatment with your dermatologist as soon as possible! Neglecting to treat the problem, could result in long term facial or body scarring.
See Pictures of Acne and Understand the Different Treatment Solutions
Most people think that acne only affects the facial area, but that is further from the truth! Acne can consume the entire body as well if left untreated. Though it is more problematic on the face, back, neck and even arms. Reports show that these body parts affected with acne are the worse cases.
Topical aide such as Benzoyl can help reduce and treat acne with success. Ointments like Benzoyl Peroxide can be easly bought over the counter at your local drug store. Benzoyl will come in several levels of strength factors, from 2.5 and above. Topical medicines like Benzoyl can help minimmize the sebaceous gland activity and unblock clogged pores.
The use of Retonoid cream is also a good way to get fid of acne problems. Retonoid is mainly known for removing white heads, black heads and comedonal acne. But for those who suffer with moderate to severe acne, the best treatment of all is prescribed meds by the dermatologist. Specifically medicines like Menocyline, Accutane, Tretinoin and other will help clear your skin of acne.
If you are left with sightly horrific looking scars to the face or body, there is a home made remedy that it is being used right now called chemical peels. Though it may be a little risky doing this yourself if you are not sure what you are doing, therefore and professional doctor would be the logical choice. In closing to keep and maintain a healthy vibrant looking skin, be sure you are eating a well-balanced meal rich with nutrients, excercise more and get plenty of rest. This treatment is called the “natures cure-all” to vitaility and a healthy lifestyle!

Do we need to treat back acne at all? That is the question many ask because they say that since the back is hidden under the clothing and the acne goes away by itself, what is the point is seeking treatment? After all, they say, back acne does not get exposed. But have you considered what would happen at the gym or at the beach where you have to take the shirt off – and the back acne would be very much there for all to see. And it can cause a lot of embarrassment.
But there is some good news for all back acne sufferers who have wanted to get a permanent cure for so long. Care to listen about me for a while? I have myself suffered from acne on the face and the back and have tried to get rid of it – but it did not work. And so I started my own research and after 7 years of dedicated experimentation, I have finally been able to find the long cherished permanent solution. I am glad to say that my acne, including those at the back are now gone.
This report reveals here all my findings. I have discussed here the causes of acne and also gone on to differentiate between acne on the face and back acne. And finally I will show you the solution that really works.
Everything you need to know about back acne
Back acne makes it presence felt in various ways. There is the big cystic acne that goes deep into the skin and then there are the simpler blackheads and whiteheads. It can be annoying and painful – but the problem is, cases of back acne are more than those in other parts of the body. They can also be more difficult to treat.
Why does back acne happen? Many believe that the toughness of the skin on the backside has something to do with this. The presence of a high number of sebaceous glands may also play a role – this is because the gland makes excess oil and this oil in turn causes back acne. This leads to the large nodules that can be quite painful.
So what is it that causes back acne?
There seems to be as many theories as there are people. Some say that acne on the back gets formed when there is an over exposure to the sun that dries up the skin and when the sebum tries to compensate this, it leads to acne as the hair follicles get blocked. Lack of nutrients is yet another factor that has been blamed. However the fact is, the real causes are all internal.
Every kind of acne including acne on the face, back, neck, cystic acne or that on the shoulder begins to appear when either there is an imbalance in the hormones in the body or when there are too many toxins in the lymph and the blood.
The factors that many believe such as the toughness of the skin or the presence of all these innumerable sebaceous glands do not matter at all for back acne. At the most they can make the symptoms worse. So do not make the same mistake that so many do of applying loads of moisturizer on the back and not taking off that shirt at the beach fearing sun exposure. While it is true that these measures might reduce the symptoms, but the back acne itself will not be cured.
How is back acne different than the ones in other parts of the body?
The way the back looks and the fact that it is different to the face is not really the reason why back acne and facial acne is not the same. The external difference has nothing to do with it, and so the number of sebaceous glands or the toughness of the skin does not matter. As mentioned before, there might be a slight difference on the symptom of the back acne, but that is it – the cause of the acne remains.
The basic difference is on the inside. While back acne happens mostly due to the high level of toxins in the body that cannot get out, body acne and facial acne on the other hand can be accounted more to the hormonal levels and their imbalances.
Thus obviously, the level of toxins is more crucial in back acne than in facial acne. Yes, hormonal balance still plays some part (because this is a factor in all kinds of acne), but this is mostly restricted in back acne. It is much less dominant here.
The only back acne cure
Since the causes are all internal – the cure is also to fix all these internal factors that are causing the acne to form. And this is the case with any type of acne. The internal root causes need to be identified and neutralized for any cure to happen.
And since the level of toxicity plays a key role in back acne, the focus should also be to bring it down because this is a more crucial factor for back acne than hormonal imbalance.
The holistic approach is the best solution because it can take on all the causes of acne effectively. The holistic approach can solve both the external (that worsen the condition) as well as the internal factors. The lifestyle changes help too. Back acne is gone quickly and you are sure to love your healthy skin.

The fact that pimples are an indispensable part for the teenager and the adult years has been accepted, though grudgingly. But what is unacceptable and literally non-erasable are the hideous marks they leave behind. So the first question that comes to the mind once one gets the zits is how long does acne red marks stay?
Statistics show that around 25% of all people who have had acne will suffer from the spots and scars left behind by the pimples. The figure stands at an amazing 20 million Americans who will be afflicted by the pimple caused scars.
The red marks that are caused by acne are often than not a result of the infection and curing progression.
However, the length of time they will stay and when they will disappear is a question that even doctors would hesitate to answer, simply because they do not know.
The Mystery behind Acne scar
How long an acne scar will stay on your face is largely determined by two main factors. Firstly it depends on how severe your acne really is, as the scars from severe acne refuse to go as easily as a scar from mild acne.
The second reason that decides on how long the acne scar will stay is the healing process of your body.
The faster your body is able to recover and heal itself the faster the marks will vanish. Though the red marks usually last from anything between four and twelve weeks the exact period depends on these factors.
Though pimple scars are inevitable they can be controlled if you follow a few steps.
Instead of starting the treatment after the scars have occurred you should start as soon as the pimples appear. The best way for taking care of the scars are home remedies, and remember that these are more useful as they will help remove the scars, will help your skin otherwise and also does not have any side effects.
However, if the scar left by your pimples is already untreatable, you still need not worry, for modern scientific progression has devised many ways to counter them. A dermatological surgery should be the answer to all your problems, which can be done on the surface of the skin or surgically needing incision.
The different treatment methods are Dermabrasion, Autologous fat transfer, Skin grafting, treatment of Keloids, Microdermabrasion, Skin surgery, Collagen injection or Laser treatment. Finally, before deciding on any treatment methods do make sure you consult your dermatologist.
If your skin is scar prone, these treatments may end up causing bad than any good. Other things that you should keep in mind while taking your decision is the amount of expenditure you are ready to sponsor for your treatment and your skin type, the best person to do that with is naturally your doctor.

An acne face wash developed to clear pimples and blemishes helps regulate and control facial oil that leads to infection and breakouts. Products rich in Zinc PCA can help clear bacteria and fungal infections and leave skin felling and looking fresh, smooth and blemish-free.
Breakouts are a condition that affects most people at some point in their lives. Although adults also get blemishes (often referred to as rosacea), teenagers are the ones who get affected the most by the pimples and blemishes which are the symptoms. To suffer from acne can have a terribly debilitating affect on a person leading to social awkwardness and overwhelming embarrassment.
Teenagers with pimples have been known to withdraw completely and hide themselves. However, there are ways to handle the situation and make it easier to cope with, but first one needs to understand exactly what acne is all about.
The Causes of Acne
To begin with, fluctuations in hormonal levels and lack of personal hygiene are the primary causes. Breakouts occur when the pores of our skin which hold follicles of hair containing oil glands get clogged with plugs of dirt, oil and bacteria. This happens when the oil glands start producing an excess of oil which attracts the dirt and bacteria. These keep building up until the pores are completely blocked; causing infections and angry eruptions, leading to an outbreak of pimples and blemishes.
How to Cope
Hence, the first priority is to keep your skin scrupulously clean with the use of a good Acne face wash. This will ensure that the production of excess oil by the sebaceous glands slows down enabling you to unclog the pores and keep them clean. This should slow down the rate of infection and will start clearing the pimples and blemishes gradually.
What to look for in a Good Acne Face Wash
When you want to buy an Acne Treatment, do look out for one that says ‘oil free’ and ‘non- comedogenic’ which is basically non-acne aggravating. It should also preferably claim to be mild, non-drying and non-irritating. Certain face washes also contain other medications such as salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide. However, it may be wiser to use a gentle cleanser to wash your face and then follow it up with topical medication if necessary.
The Process
When you start using a gentle Acne face wash and start keeping the skin clean and oil-free, it starts fighting bacteria. As the skin starts fighting back, it keeps clearing up. Ensure you only wash your face twice a day with cleanser. You can splash water on your face as many times as you want through the day. Do be kind to your skin.
